Riding & Rehab for Best Buddies

For the third straight year, I am supporting Best Buddies by participating in the 2012 edition of the Hearst Castle Challenge and attempting to be ready for the Century (100 miles!) ride.

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities

This Blog follows my progress in training for the ride and raising my commitment in funds.  It is also meant to bring awareness to this wonderful group of people and the work that they do.

The twist for this year is a slow recovery from a ski trip knee/hamstring injury.  It will be a challenge to even do the 30 mile ride not for the mileage, but because of the grade of incline.
